Good Day All!!

Have an email here from Denise in Queens who writes:

Maria,

I got these shoes last year and I never wore them. They are Christian Louboutin metallic blue booties. They are insane and I love them! But, I am short, and booties can be tough to pull off... not to mention the metallic peacock blue color lol! What do you think I can wear with them that will not make me look shorter than I am and work with the color? Thanks for your help!

Well Denise, the color and type of shoe are quite the challenge. Let’s start first with the shoe itself. Booties fall into the same category as ankle strap heels; they fall into a danger zone with short people because they cut off your height making your appearance shorter than you already are. The best solution: make your hemline shorter. The shorter your skirt the longer your legs will look especially with these booties. Wearing a skirt to your knees or a pair of carpi's is only going to make you smaller. Plus, having a unique pair of shoes like these on your feet, you want people to notice them and with more leg showing, you'll get just that.

As for the color: stick with solids. This metallic blue color would go great with a short black dress, jumpsuit or romper. White, tan, and grey would match as well. Also, don't be afraid to wear jeans with these shoes. Any dark pair of straight leg jeans would look great too, but stick with a solid top. Below are a couple of ideas to go along with your booties Denise! Hope you find
this helpful!

SPLURGE: ALICE + OLIVIA JUMPSUIT $275.00

STEAL: TWO TONE KNIT DRESS $22.80 (FOREVER 21)
